Testing Opportunities

A message from High School Principal Cindy Christoferson:

We will be offering the PSAT test on-site Wednesday October 12th at 8:30 AM in the high school auditorium. This is an opportunity for our juniors and college-bound sophomores to practice for the SAT test. While participation is encouraged, this test is not required.

We will be offering the ASVAB test on-site Wednesday, October 19th beginning at 9 AM. We ask that all juniors take this test as it provides them with a graduation pathway if students reach a cut score on this assessment. I encourage any senior who did not achieve the cut score to take it again this year if they do not already have a graduation pathway.

Please mark these dates on your calendars and, as always, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Freshman Orientation

Good morning Loggers!!!!

If you need transportation– please call the high school office by 3pm, Monday, August 29th.

We are all so excited to welcome back students for the 2022-2023 school year. We will be holding orientation for all freshman students as well as any new student on Wednesday, August 31st from 9am to 11:30am.

Freshmen will be able to meet their teachers (we have some new ones again this year!), walk their schedule, meet with their advisors, and get their lockers. New students will be able to meet DHS staff, have a tour of the building, and get their lockers.

Lunch and transportation will be provided. If your student needs transportation, please call the high school at 360-436-1140. If we aren’t able to answer the phone, please leave a message with your student’s name and address so that we can get that information to transportation.

While this message is going out to the entire student body, this is only for freshmen and new students – parents, you get the morning off! We will have something fun planned for the rest of you on the first day of school – Thursday, September 1st.
